If you or your child were knocked unconscious, you’ll need to see a doctor immediately. However, if you’re just a little banged up, here are some tips to get you through.

  • An icon of a snowflake.

    Chill out

Grab a cold pack and place it on elevated bump or bruise for 15 minutes, up to 8 times a day for two days, to help control swelling.

  • An icon of a bandage.

    Scrape by

If there’s any broken skin or scrapes, wash them out with soap and water and apply a bandage. You can also take acetaminophen for pain -- ibuprofen and aspirin will only prolong bleeding.
